Let's pretent you got volunteered by your husband during a weekly coordination meeting (that you so diligently attend to support him in his calling) to sing in sacrament meeting the Sunday before Christmas for the Christmas program, that you fast talk in every way possible to try to get out of it for a half hour and somehow walk out the church door agreeing as long as your husband sings with you (that's what you get for volunteering her). Lets also pretend that he somehow kindly bows out and before you know it, you're flying solo.
If you found yourself in this position, and wanted to try to embarrass yourself to the LEAST degree possible, would you:
a) do what I did in elementary school and not tell anyone and when the day comes and the bishop stands, act completely surprised like you never knew?
b) ask your husband to sing as an alternate if you get sick, then "get sick"?
c) suck it up and sing:
1) Mary Did You Know
2) Mary's Lullaby
3) Or stick to the simply beautiful Silent night, or Away in a Manger?
I would really, REALLY like to know what you would do if any of you found yourself (hypothetically) in this situation.

Mary Did You Know or Mary's Lullaby! Suck it up! You have an amazing voice and I want to fly down to Phoenix just to hear you!!
a) obviously too late for this one.
b) Cole would fake sick so fast it would make your head spin.
c) sing "Santa Baby" and GUARANTEE that it never happens again.
btw..Mary did you know is creepy.
I am coming to your ward on the Sunday before Christmas to hear you sing! Yay!! You have an amazing voice so I don't think it matters which song you sing (although Santa Baby would be toatlly worth sitting through two Sacrament meetings). My personal favorite is Mary's Lullaby so that's my vote. Cole owes you an incredible Christmas gift.
haha,...I agree ,..Sing! I heard you sing in my house with your companions and I know you have a beautiful voice! So much I made you sing again for my hubby.remember? Don't hide your gift Heavenly Father gave you girl! Love ya!
Remi,
You are hilarious!!! I love your posts. Thanks for making me smile today. Wish we lived closer so that I could hear you sing. We would totally be there if we could.
Ooh definitely Mary did you know. But Greensleeves is always a grand choice, depending on your range. I'm jealous for the people in your Sac meeting, I would love to hear you sing in person. However after you sing it is always appropriate for him to have dinner-duty for the remainder of 2008, or say, "That one was for you Cole baby" over the pulpit, (with a gun/wink) or there's always the old go-to-- start talking about a hypothetical pregnancy around his parents.
Mary's lullaby totally. you'll nail it.
hypothetically.. if i COULD even get remotely close to singly like you.. I would do and with my head held high. If I were me..I would play sick. lol. Now I wanna hear you.. dang it!!
Remi,
I was addressing Christmas cards and realized I don't have your address. You can send it to me at michaelsonb@yahoo.com
just talk and talk and talk really loud this week, and sure enough....you'll get laryngitis! then you really can't sing. i did that once.
I bet it will be beautiful and you will fill the chapel with tears! I love Mary did you know!!
Love ya girl-
Corissa

Hey Remi! This is Ashley (Updike). Man, its been forever, I stumbled across your cute blog and I'm so glad to see you are doing so well and seem so happy! Congrats on your wedding!!! Where are you guys living?
You know you have to do Marys Lullaby and you will rock it! loves!
Remi, if i could sing 1/2 as good as you, i would be volunteering to sing at every public venue possible. Not that that would be annoying:).
I say sing Mary's lullaby or Mary did you know...
Then I would hug Cole and thank him for providing you opportunities to shine:). J/K. I would choke him.
