I’m DONE with movies.
I can’t watch scary ones- suspense kills me and makes me anxious, and at the end, I feel like I’ll NEVER go anywhere alone ever again or I’ll get abducted/sold into slavery/chopped into bits. NOT a good feeling.
I can’t watch action ones- the blood and violence is too much for me. I don’t like to be entertained by watching someone beat the pulp out of someone else. (I don’t even like it in cartoons where the lion punches the old lady!)
And so, that leaves me with one (arguably two) types of movies: the cheesy chick flick, everyone-lives-happily-ever-after ones.
Until last night. I had it. The movie looked kind of like My Best Friends Wedding, but instead, the guy was a total womanizer, slept with a different girl every night, including his best friends roommate, cousin, and housekeeper that he didn’t even know spoke English. The guy’s father, was on his 6th marriage (all at least 30 years younger than himself, and all lasting a month or so), and his seventh was the best friend’s cousin, the one that had already slept with the womanizer son.
Sick. The sickest thing was, NO ONE SEEMED TO CARE! Sick sick sick me out! The womanizer crashes the best friend’s wedding and admits he loves her and they lived, of course, happily ever after, no sexually transmitted diseases I’m sure.
And here I am, listening to a rating system whose deciding factor between a PG-13 and an R is whether or not it has one f-word or two. Forget morals, self-worth, standards, trust, reliability, and progression. And even then, they try to throw in more in another language.

Dude, I totally agree. Movie morals are shot to .... DON'T see "Knowing"; it was WAY scary. I hated it. I'm sick of trailers that seem so promising, but the movie is a total let down. And the whole one f-word per pg-13... it's SO LAME that they throw it in there just because they can. Grrrrrr
i completely agree - what ever happened to a good, uplifting movie? i've been reading a lot lately. :)
I just watched Emma today with one of my roommates. A little bit older, but I had never seen it. I love Jane Austen made movies. Yes it's a chick flick, but it's clean and very witty. Try it. PS try not to get locked out again. Love and miss!
I'm curious what movie that is now? Maid of Honour?? Thats why you stick to Amanda Bynes movies and movies that have Hilary Duff or are called Another Cinderella Story!! Gotta see it!!!
I'm going to go ahead and put in a plug for the Hannah Montana movie. I have a hunch that you'll love it. Rated G. Set in Montana. She rides horses and falls in love with a cowboy. Featuring 14 new songs from Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, etc.
I think it sounds like a recipe for success! Ky wasn't sure about it so I'm planning on making it a movie date with Carly and Josie!
Way to go Remi!! It's really not worth it anymore. I'm glad your morals are so high. I'm glad you were outraged. You are righteous and no one can beat that. Good girl.
i thought i told you to never never NEVER watch made of honor. shoot. sorry, know the feeling though.
amen.
One of my other favorite movies that is adorable: Little Manhattan. I'm obsessed.
I am so so so behind on your blog.I am so sorry. I love this post. Good for you to stand up for whats right. We don't watch movies that much anymore for the same reasons. SO we have played game nights with friends alot more. It has been much a better social life because of it too.
