Our First Picture together 6 yrs ago

About 6 years ago a beautiful, enthusiastic, spiritual young lassie, named Remi Lundeen, swept me off my feet and taught me what is was like to be in love. Hopefully if you are reading this you know the feeling. It starts with NON STOP thoughts about that person, followed by long nights until you doze off with each other, holding hands every second your with each other, the constant flirting and then the big first kiss. Your heart is racing, nervous whether or not they want you to make the move, thinking to yourself when the last time was it you put in your last piece of gum insuring freshness and then finally after about 10 minutes of small talk waiting for the inevitable it happens! The first time Remi and I kissed was the night before she went to BYU Idaho and the first words out of her sweet mouth were “Well, that wasn’t awkward” I still laugh thinking about how in the clouds I was and how on the ground she was. I knew I was in love.
Today marks Our First Anniversary!
Many say the first year of marriage is the hardest… bunch of wimps (hopefully you caught the sarcasm). I love the first year of marriage because you learn so much about your companion and you realize how much you need to learn from them. For instance, Remi has learned I have a disgusting habit my mom and sisters warned her that I have. (and no it is not farting or picking my nose and no I am not disclosing it). I have also learned how picky I am about my laundry and that Rem does not believe in matching or folding socks. I have learned that Remi loves a good in depth conversation, one in which I don’t participate in all the time. She loves a beautiful plant, and when one or 5 die in one year she is heartbroken, especially when Herbie, our first tree called a fiddle fig died. I have also learned how much she really loves me. This is something I have known, but being able to see it daily now for a year has made me appreciate and love her even more. Remi, I am more in love with you each day, Happy One Year Anniversary!
Now, although our first year has been on this blog I thought I would highlight some of my most favorite memories and things we have done together.
1. Reading books together- Just finished The Da Vinci Code and now it's on to The Hobbit
2. Going on long walks
3. Fighting and making up - Who doesnt
4. Speaking together for firesides and church assignments- She is a great speaker, teacher and

Listening to her play the guitar and sing (my favorite) on our balcony- She has an un believable voice and she has written two songs that have both made me cry. Seriously she is one talented woman.
And the list could go on…..

Oh Remi. It is hard not to love this beautiful, smart, amazing, funny young woman. I don't know anyone who isn't DAZZLED by this girl. Yes, I said dazzled. :)
Congrats on "making it".. many many more years to come.. I hope you'll continue the blog so we can peek in every now and again.
Love ya girl.
Cole, I forgive you for cutting Ashley and I out of the picture...
Isn't the first year great!! I agree. We didn't think it was the hardest either. Besides, you are so in love the first year, you can get away with virtually anything!! lol...Ray and I are going on 12 years in September and what's better than the first year is even after so many years, we manage to find ways to love each other more and more everyday! I didn't think it was possible until I experienced it :) Best wishes to you both and may you fall in love over and over with each other!!
congrats!! each year gets better and better:)
Oh Cole...what a sweet guy you are. She's as lucky to have you as you are to have her. Congratulations on living through the first year. Our first year was our only hard year if that helps at all. The last 24 years have been fabulous for us. Love you guys!

First of all, what a sweet post Cole. Second of all, we just love you two and are so happy for all the time we get to spend with you. You seem to be off to a great start on your marriage and I'm sure things will just continue to get better and better. We love you both and can't wait to see you soon!

Happy Anniversary (belated... I'm always late on things like this:) I'm glad you two have found each other and I know you will continue to fall even more in love with each other as the years pass!
