Monday: Chicken Curry

So I used to be a meal planner.  The idea was to save some money by only getting what's on your list, make dinner a few times a week, and then have those frozen chicken nuggets on the days we want to eat immediately.  Maybe some cheerios.  Or some chocolate chip cookies (a staple around here).

However, I found myself shopping for a meal, never making it, and forgetting what I was supposed to make with the ingredients in my cupboard.  So then I would find myself spending more money at the grocery store to make something with some of the ingredients I had, and then forget that too….and thus, our full pantry with only half the ingredients for any real meal….

So, I’ve started something new.  No meal planning.  Well, meal planning, but only with what’s in our cupboard, overloading our shelves.  So tonight, chicken curry.  Substitute yellow curry paste for (less) green, red potatoes with russets, and coconut milk for a can of light, and a can of 1% milk.  SUCCESS!  I’ll let you know how the rest of the week goes, I have a feeling this will get difficult in about a day, when all I have are 26 cans of pears, 32 packets of slow cooker seasonings, and 12 packets of top ramen.

Also, maternity photo shoot or no?  Belly caste?  I have a hard time with the practicality of these things.  Will I frame a preggo picture of me?  Probably not.  Will I encase a belly caste of each child (because lets be honest, you can’t just belly caste one…no favorites here)….I just don’t see it.  Although I do love both and think they are beautiful.  For example, my beautiful sister did just take these.  Gorgeous.

my two cents:

definitely the prego shots. i did frame my favorite one and had it in the girls' room until i took the cribs out and redid their room. now mackenzie just seems to find them and pull them out when company is over, which is admittedly sort of awkward.

casting: not a fan. that's just me though.

I think you should do a maternity shoot because you look amazing in any pictures and I have no idea what a belly caste is???

Ok, 1.) That's cool that You and Linds are prego together. Good thing she got a blog because I had no idea... and 2.) I used to do belly casting at the OB med-spa I worked at. Wouldn't recommend, actually. Messy, expensive, hassle. And I mean, where do you display 4 belly casts (if that's how many you have by the time you're done?)

I say no to belly cast - that's kind of creepy. It takes up a lot of room, and I get uncomfortable at the idea of having the 'bosoms' included. I say yes to pics. Only if you wear the vest.
