But instead, I just got home from yoga and I watched the birds outside my balcony. This little red capped woodpecker with its little brown/black speckles was going to town on whatever woodpeckers go to town on when they peck away at those trees. Food I suppose.
Anyway it was eating away and in swoops this little sparrow looking thing that was bent on destroying this woodpecker's meal. Every time the woodpecker would stop, give the sparrow the crustiest stare-down it could, then start to go about its pecking, in would swoop the little sparrow, tapping its little feet on that little red cap. And then I would smile, remembering how much fun it is to pester.
I really like to tickle Mr. Stoneman.
And he hates it.
So I do it when he's most vulnerable, and he throws me across the room (instinctively). I crawl back to him wounded and nuzzle up close, all the while promising him I'll never ever do it again if he'll just let me snuggle with him and as soon as he lets his guard down, BAM, I swoop in again. And its worth every unintentional bruise.
And it was just as fun when I was little and did it to my brothers and sisters too when I stepped on their side of the room, or touched them with my pointer finger- whatever it took to cause a meltdown.
So I enjoyed those little birds until they flew off, and it made me happy, and made me wonder what other beautiful things await me every day to make me laugh but I'm too busy to see them.
I'm wishing I had someone to pester right now.

Tony's fav is to almost touch me with said pointer, but with no contact... and say, "i'm not touching you" repeatedly while i wish he would just attack me and get it over with.

If you were at work you could pester me right now. Erm...when are you coming back again? I miss you? I went to a Zumba class and have sweet moves to show you. I had to show them to Sam instead. (kidding)
Sounds to me like you might have your hands full when your little guy arrives. (If he's anything like you).
How much longer do you have???
