That’s what everyone on my mission told me.
For example, “My kids will NEVER throw themselves in the isles of the grocery store and scream like that”, or “I would NEVER let my kid steal another baby’s toy…”, or “My kid will NEVER run down the isles at church….”
and then I came home from my mission, and said I would NEVER be the mom who, once they had a baby, posted 8 gazillion pictures of them on their blog, and then readers of the blog don’t even know if the baby has parents, and if they do, you certainly don’t know what they do all day, because they stopped writing about themselves and only post baby pictures every. single. blogpost.
And here I am, loud and proud, THAT mom. On steroids.
Because before, I didn’t know how big they got so fast, how different they look every day, how dang cute they are, and how many different faces they make.
Before I wasn’t afraid that if I didn’t get a picture of every little detail of our lives now, every new freckle, every new chub roll, I might forget how precious these times were, or what I saw when I stared at him, and how I felt when I did.
Having a little man is the b.e.s.t.
Speaking of the little man, we took him in to get his tongue snipped today. I’m just about done with these little procedures they insist on giving my little boy. He was tongue-tied. And our hope was, that once that was fixed, he wouldn’t be in so much pain, and therefore the screaming would stop.
No such luck yet, but we’re one step closer.
I would love to share some of my birth story if anyone has interest in hearing it. I’m sure someone enjoys birth stories, or else TLC wouldn’t have a show about it….let me know by the poll up top. its anonymous, so feel free to be honest.

I would love, love, love to hear about your birth story, and how to manage natural labor!!!! He's so cute! That's a bummer he was tongue tied, if he had any trouble eating, he should be much better with it snipped. I love hearing about your little man!
i thought of you today. actually i thought of smith. i promise you. like a literal promise... with pinky swears and all...
it. will. get. better.
p.s. i think i have the medallion picked out that i want stamped to say:
official labor inducer.
i just need your approval for printing to begin. i'll stop by tomorrow with the design plans. feel free to have freshly made cookies available for my consumption. (no nuts)
kisses.
Love labor stories...Would love to hear it!
I have been guilty of the "I never would let..." aswell. Now I am guilty of always wondering what people think about this... or that... I am learning to relish in the moments of being a mom, and be less concerned about what people think. It is a learning process, but I find that I am happier this way :) -Post the baby pictures, document the experience. You will be glad you did.
-Enjoy that cute little guy!
Remi he is BEAUTIFUL!!! More pictures the better my dear. I can't wait to meet him. (Costley's wedding? SO EXCITED!!!)
