My belly feels ginormous today.
I got an email update from Baby Center that my son is now the size of a butternut squash. So when I went to the grocery store immediately following work, I had to mosey on over to the squash section, grab one discretely, look around, and hold it tenderly for a good 45 seconds, while proudly beaming down at my little butternut. I may have even cooed a little.
I regretfully set it down and realized that next to my standard sized butternut was a butternut squash the size of a small planet. I couldn’t help but think as I looked down at my protruding stomach that THAT might be a more accurate depiction of my little man.

My best friend gets home from her mission next Tuesday. I’m psyched out of my MIND about it. Her birthday was a week ago, and so for her birthday/welcome home gift I thought I would get her her first civilian outfit. Something conservative, but will make her feel cute?
I found some dresses at Shabby Apple I’ve been contemplating, but I need to decide soon, as shipping will cut it close. Suggestions?
or I could go with something like this:

Hello Coney Island...
My search for the ultimate bridesmaid dress 2010 brought me to shabby apple recently, and I am coveting the coney island number.
And here she is, on your blog. That's my vote.
Glad you are well. Love you more than sun... can't wait til your butternut squash is a little lamb like mine and we can be meeting at the park.
I say you just take her shopping. Show her what is cool and what isn't. Because you are of course the queen of cool.
So I especially love the red dress and the one that's white on top and black on bottom. However, I agree with your mom. A shopping trip would be the best welcome home gift, even if it's an online shopping trip where you never leave your couch!
I'm so glad to hear you snuggled a butternut squash. It made me smile.
Okay, I hope you don't think I'm a stalker because you don't know me and I totally read your blog! I went to high school with Cole and I know your sister Lindsay and I somehow found your blog! You are a very entertaining writer and I always love looking at all of your fun pictures! You have got to be the cutest pregnant woman I have ever seen! Anyway, thought I would finally comment. :) Tell your sister Lindsay that Erin and Steve said hello!
